Review- Nashua Silver Knights

Today, we went to Kids Club Sunday at the Nashua Silver Knights game! I had so much fun!

The Silver Knights are a Futures Collegiate team, so everyone is a college student or incoming freshman. Our favorite part is when the kids get to run the bases at the end and high-five all of the players. The kids think they’re meeting celebrities, and the players have a lot of fun.

Each franchise provides high quality, affordable entertainment, in a casual, family-friendly atmosphere. College players from around the country descend upon the New England region each summer to take part in a competitive league that closely mirrors the style of a minor league season, playing over 60 games from late May through August. More than 150 Futures League players have been drafted by Major League Baseball (MLB) organizations.

The Nashua Silver Knights play at Historic Holman Stadium. I find it historic because I remember when football was played there and before there were stadium chairs. I also remember the Nashua Pride, and the upgrades they made to the park. It’s actually historic because it’s where the Nashua Dodgers (affiliate of the Brooklyn Dodgers at the time) played, and where Roy Campanella and Don Newcombe first played as part of an integrated team back in 1945.

So now that you know I’m old, and that Nashua is actually pretty cool, let’s get to the baseball. A ticket is $10. Season tickets are $220, and they play 35 home games ($6.29 a ticket?). You can also get a flex pack (10 tickets for $90), or we like to opt for the All You Can Eat tickets ($28, or $250 for 10). You get a burger/hot dog/chicken sandwich, chips/popcorn, and a fountain soda every visit to the one specific concession stand. When you have growing boys, it definitely makes dinner that much easier.

Cheap Tip
Find about 18-20 people and split a suite. The food is much better (fries! Chicken tenders!), there’s a fridge of soda and beer, AC, and shade. It’s great for the kids (under 3 don’t count toward the headcount). Suites start at $480, so for about the same price as an AYCE ticket, you can have a way better experience.

My other favorite part of a Silver Knights game? Games start at 6pm during the week, and 3pm on Sundays. That means our late night out is only about 9pm, which is much earlier than other games in the area. This makes games much more family friendly and a better screen-free alternative than games that often start at 7 or 8, and are farther away.

Note
I wasn’t paid nor did I receive anything for this review. I just believe that having the Silver Knights in Nashua is great for our community.
